Meet our Teams??: IASTMotion The co-founders of IASTMotion are dedicated to making rehabilitation more accessible and affordable. Our mission is to reshape the physical therapy landscape by developing a fully mechanized system of Instrument-Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM) to treat musculoskeletal injuries. They are excited to be a part of the second cohort of USTAAR and are actively working to achieve success. Amira Mansuri Hi! My name is Amira Mansuri, and I am a senior in Biomedical Engineering and Global Health Studies on the Pre-Medical track from Miramar, Florida. Through my classes, research, clinical, and volunteer experiences, I have developed a deep appreciation for the intersection of technology, accessibility, and patient care. I am passionate about integrating technology into healthcare for more equitable care. Beyond my academic and entrepreneurship ventures, I enjoy various artistic hobbies (I am currently in a glass blowing class!) and love to try new foods. ? Andres Leon My name is Andres Leon, I am a senior in biomedical engineering with a minor in mathematics. Originally from Caracas, Venezuela, I moved to Orlando, Florida, to complete my high school education before pursuing my passion for innovation and healthcare. My goal is to push the boundaries of biomedical technology, specifically, in the medical devices industry, ultimately improving the quality of life for individuals with treatable conditions. Beyond my academic and entrepreneurship ventures, a fun fact about me is I played semi-professional soccer around the country. I also represented Venezuela in Karate at an international competition in Okinawa, Japan, and if you were wondering, no, I didn’t win.? Chloe Soriano Chloe Soriano is a senior in the 5-Year BS/MS Biomedical Engineering program at the University of Miami, with a minor in dance. As a Filipino-American and the first-born child in her family to be raised in the U.S., she thrives in organization, communication, and leadership while balancing her rigorous academic schedule with on-campus employment and research positions. Beyond her academic and entrepreneurial pursuits, Chloe is passionate about hip-hop dance. She actively embraces her identity as an Asian American within the hip-hop dance community and enjoys integrating her love for dance into her everyday life. ? Ian Lee My name is Ian Lee, I am a senior in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Miami. I am from New Jersey but grew up primarily eating my way through Canal and Mott Street in New York City’s Chinatown. My goal through this journey is to leave no stone unturned and open every door of opportunity. I strive to define the roles I serve rather than letting them define me. Beyond my academic and entrepreneurial pursuits, I’m an active member of UMiami’s beach volleyball club team and love immersing myself in thrifting adventures with friends, exploring diverse and expressive styles. #innovation #entrepreneurship #startup

  • Last month, IASTMotion won $10,000 in seed funding from the U Student Startup Accelerator (USTAAR) Program! We hope to create IASTMotion as an integrated, fully mechanized system designed to increase accessibility of Instrument-Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM) for musculoskeletal injury treatment. With this funding, we’ll be able to invest in reliable materials, prototyping, and development costs to bring IASTM to patients who can't access it through traditional means. A huge thank you to the USTAAR Program for believing in early innovation and supporting student entrepreneurs at the University of Miami! We will continue building a solution that allows IASTM more accessible to all.
