IASSIST is seeking proposals to provide sponsorship of regional or local events during calendar year 2025. We are particularly looking to sponsor regional or local level events that will attract data professionals from multiple institutions who would benefit from IASSIST membership, but may not always be able to travel to attend IASSIST conferences. IASSIST members, along with members from many organisations like RDAP (Research Data Access and Preservation) Association and the Data Curation Network, recently initiated the Data Rescue Project (DRP) to coordinate efforts in preserving USA federal data that was disappearing and at risk of being lost. ?? Data have already been rescued from various agencies, including the CDC and the Department of Education. For many years, it was a key online communication tool during annual our conferences and remained as one of the most engaging social media platforms for the association. However, we have noticed that the service is no longer the same and is not suitable for its original purpose. 2025 is an election year for IASSIST. Nominations for candidates will be open until the end of January. The election will be held in late March 2025, and the newly elected candidates will take office at the 2025 General Assembly in June. The nominee must be an IASSIST member in good standing.
