Today we’re highlighting Soraya Tavakol, a Gold Tier facilitator from the UK? ??How long have you been an #IAmRemarkable facilitator? 2 years ?? How many participants have you reached? 323 ?? How do you see the connection between self-promotion and taking action to drive change? Self-promotion and taking action to drive change go hand in hand. When advocating for change, it’s not just about having great ideas—it’s also about making sure those ideas are heard and recognized. Self-promotion, when done authentically, helps build credibility, attract support, and inspire others to take action. It’s not about ego, but about amplifying impact. Whether leading a movement, launching an initiative, or pushing for innovation, sharing one’s vision and achievements can create momentum and open doors to further change. ?? Can you share a time when embracing your own remarkable qualities helped you take action—whether in your career, community, or personal growth? There are so many examples. Every promotion and job change I've had has been the result of self-promotion and advocating for myself. If I can't share my achievements and communicate them I've found that opportunities and recognition won't come my way. In my experience, you have to make the effort to be heard and recognised in order for doors to open ?? What advice would you give to someone who wants to take action but is held back by self-doubt? Start small, with people and in places you are most comfortable. Share your accomplishments with those you trust most and you know will be open to you building that self-promotion muscle. Think about self-promotion as the act of sharing something about yourself and building a meaningful connection with someone else. Thank you Soraya! When you confidently share your achievements, you inspire others, challenge norms, and open doors for meaningful change. Taking action starts with owning your impact, and when you do, you create space for others to rise with you. ?? Can you share a time when embracing your own remarkable qualities helped you take action—whether in your career, community, or personal growth? Absolutely! When I first started leading #IAmRemarkable workshops, I hesitated to call myself a strong facilitator. But embracing my ability to create safe spaces for real conversations gave me the confidence to take on bigger speaking engagements, mentor others, and advocate for self-empowerment. Owning my strengths didn’t just help me—it helped others step up too.? ?? What advice would you give to someone who wants to take action but is held back by self-doubt? Start small but start now. Self-doubt fades when action takes its place. Remind yourself that you don’t need to be 100% ready—you just need to begin. Speak up, share your wins, and surround yourself with people who uplift you.
