Let this one sink in! A carrier will usually have 1 million in liability coverage even if the min requirement is 750k. Meanwhile, CA has a min of 15k/30k (15k per person/30k per accident). The person that ran a red light and deemed at fault in Nevada only had their min of 25k/50k. The truck was considered totaled and as a company, we lost a lot of money and time to figure it all out. Luckily my driver was not hurt and is a good human being as he did not take this unfortunate incident as an opportunity to take. Guess who ends up paying for it? The carrier,?? Iamfr8 Inc! (Via raised premiums) And that right there, doesn’t make economical sense! And the ones usually doing all the suing…have the minimum limits but can sue for millions of dollars!
