We’ll be wrapping up our 2024 calendar of events with the IADC Houston Chapter at the Heights Bier Garten on December 5th. That’s a wrap on the 2024 IADC AGM. We hosted two industry and advocacy champions, in an engaging discussion on underrepresentation in our industry and heard Jamie Elrod of Flipping The Barrel and Laura McFalls of Women Offshore share their stories and insights. We also had the privilege of hosting a Happy Hour with over 30 students in attendance, who were able to interact with industry leaders. Thanks to everyone for making the event a success!

We’re excited to announce that Jamie Elrod, Co-Founder of Flipping The Barrel and Global Sales & Key Account Director at Baker Hughes, will be speaking at the International Association of Drilling Contractors Annual General Meeting in the Championing Women in the Drilling Industry session. With over 12 years in oil and gas, Jamie Elrod has journeyed from a Field Sales Rep for Smith Bits to building a loyal network of industry followers. She’s a relentless advocate for change in the energy sector, focusing on increasing female representation and highlighting the industry’s positive contributions. In 2019, Jamie co-founded Flipping The Barrel with Massiel Diez, creating a platform to share authentic stories from within the industry and encourage a more inclusive workforce. Joining Jamie on the panel will be Laura McFalls, Vice President of Women Offshore Foundation, who is equally passionate about supporting women in offshore energy roles. Together, they’ll address the challenges and opportunities for women in this field, and how we can collectively foster an environment that uplifts and empowers.
