FYI I2SL was founded originally by a few federal agencies operating numerous labs around the US, and wanted to establish an educational platform to share ideas and solutions for managing their labs more sustainably. Hence “Labs for the 21th Century” was launched! More popularly known then as Labs21! Today, Labs21 changed it name to I2SL and is a global platform. I2SL still organizes a very successful annual conference which is full of great sessions and awards for labs achieving spectacular sustainable goals. All teams involved in planning, design, engineering, quality control, sustainable products and FFE - including technology and real estate give great insights into delivering better labs for research and a healthier future. Check into a local I2SL Chapter in your region. The National Capital Chapter offers a unique platform being located at the headshed of federal research and Capitol Hill. The National Capital chapter hosted a office-to-lab tour at 1450 Research Blvd, Rockville, MD followed by a great evening networking event!!
