A takeaway for me is the general move for some typically stand alone/offline softwares to be web based. I2 Security Solutions and my thoughts on our 10 Year Anniversary It was 10 years this week that I purchased Time & Parking Controls and then rebranded the new company as i2 Security Solutions. Even though I had managed the business since 2002, it was still a daunting task to make the decision to buy and see the process through! I remember asking for advice from friends who were?already owners of similar businesses in the industry. Questions like, when did you realize that ?you were over the hump and your business was successful? A couple of my favorite responses were: “You’ll know you made it when you can afford to fire a customer.” Maybe this was a tongue in cheek response, but if not, we haven’t made it yet! “You’ll realize you made it when you owe the IRS a fair amount of money, AND you no longer care”. I can laugh (or cry) at this one every April! Humor aside, owning and managing a business is hard work, sometimes lonely and presents daily puzzles to solve (sometimes without having the reward of completion!). BUT also rewarding in so many ways! Here's to the next 10 years! A special THANK YOU to our vendors, customers, and employees!
