Earlier this week, our Chairman and Managing Partner, Sadek Wahba, joined many other business leaders in London for the UK’s investment summit. We have a significant presence in the region – London is the company’s second largest global office behind Miami - and we have numerous UK investments across the infrastructure space from transportation to energy assets. Following the investment summit, Sadek proffered a few lessons from U.S. infrastructure history — and his new book "Build; Investing in America's Infrastructure" — that UK policymakers might consider as they seek to reinvigorate the UK economy. In the latest episode of The Infrastructure Investor Podcast, I had the pleasure of catching up with Sadek Wahba, founder, chairman, and managing partner of I Squared Capital to discuss his new book - Build: Investing in America's Infrastructure. Build is a great read, and offered the perfect excuse for us to do a deep dive on the US #infrastructure financing landscape, the country's lukewarm embrace of private sector financing (outside of energy, of course), the importance of the public sector being able to share in the upside of such structures (as demonstrated by SH288, in #texas), and, of course, what the upcoming US election means for the asset class.
