Education and Action for a zero waste, litter-free and an environmentally engaged San Diego County.
关于我们
Celebrating 70 years in 2024, I Love A Clean San Diego (ILACSD) is an environmental nonprofit supporting residents and businesses of San Diego County. ILACSD was founded in 1954 as the San Diego War Against Litter Committee (WALC), in the 1970s, “I Love A Clean San Diego” became the slogan for the organization’s anti-litter campaign, and in 1980, it became the organization’s name. Over the last seven decades, ILACSD has evolved into the nonprofit it is today, providing programs that go far beyond litter cleanups and serve as environmental catalysts. Our programs inspire and empower San Diegans to be environmental and waste-free living leaders in their communities.

We love working with Cox Communications! Such amazing work...700 lbs of litter picked up!!
Being a good neighbor is so important. Yesterday 125 Team Cox Communications Volunteers collected over 700 lbs. of litter from our Oak Park Community around our San Diego Campus! We also planted three new trees on Campus! Special “thanks” to our community partners: I Love A Clean San Diego, Tree San Diego, The David's Harp Foundation, Inc. and Councilmember Foster from District 4 who all helped to make this a successful event!??#VolunteerMonth #LifeatCox

Amazing job to these 9-10th graders and their cleanup efforts!
?? This month, our Hermanitas embodied the value of reciprocity by giving back to the community through meaningful service! Our 7th-8th graders volunteered at Feeding San Diego, helping pack food with over 10,000 pounds in total to support families in need and ensure no one in our community goes hungry. Meanwhile, our 9th-12th graders partnered with I Love A Clean San Diego, working together to clean up the beach and promote sustainability. Service is at the heart of what we do. By volunteering, our Hermanitas are not only making a direct impact but also learning the importance of leadership, compassion, and collective responsibility. A big thank you to Feeding San Diego and I Love A Clean San Diego for allowing us to be part of their incredible missions. And of course, a huge appreciation to our Hermanitas, mentors, and Hermanitas Leadership Team for their dedication to creating a better future for our comunidad. #CommunityService #GivingBack #LeadershipThroughService

Teamwork, growth, and a whole lot of fun! ?? This year’s annual all staff meeting was a fantastic opportunity for our team to connect, learn, and strengthen our collaboration. Directors Steve Morris, CFRE, Ann Marie Sack, and Jenny Barros led insightful training sessions, including a Myers-Briggs workshop, allowing us to better understand how to work together effectively. Dari DeSousa led an amazing conflict resolution workshop, and staff members Amy Unruh, Kristin Banks, and Alison Hoffman Nicoloff shared accomplishments from various department over the last year! We participated in some exciting team bonding activities that had us collaborating, problem-solving, and, most importantly, laughing together. A huge thank you to YMCA of San Diego County Camp Surf for providing the perfect backdrop and activities for a day filled with learning, connection, and inspiration. Here’s to another year of making a difference—together! ???? #StrongerTogether #Leadership #TeamBuilding #GrowthMindset
