It’s Forklift Friday! Today we are proud to feature Ben Newey, Vice President of Sales & Marketing, APIC. Ben has been with Hyster-Yale for 6 years and works at our Singapore location. What do you do in your position? “I am responsible for the Truck bookings/revenue and marketing across the region, managing the Direct Sales and Dealer sales performance.” What do you like most about Hyster-Yale? “Long standing company known for industry leading products and services, one of the largest product portfolios within the industry globally.” What advice would you give to others? “Be relentless to be the best leader you can in your industry, it is a privilege to lead people and have a positive impact on them personally and professionally. Don’t take it for granted.” What are you proud of during your time here? “We have built an industry leading team across the region within all departments of Hyster-Yale that support our dealer and customer network every day. I am proud to be a part of the team and to be able to try and add value to their roles in order for them to be successful.”

We are proud to feature our Craigavon, Ireland location. The facility, around 30 miles from Belfast, officially opened in 1981 and has grown to be the largest volume forklift plant in the UK, manufacturing thousands of electric, diesel, and LPG forklifts each year for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. It employs hundreds of people from the local area and has extended its factory in recent years to incorporate new automation and sustainability innovations.

It’s Forklift Friday! Today we are proud to feature Ross Macpherson, Senior Procurement Manager. Ross has been with Hyster-Yale for 24 years and works at our Irvine, Scotland plant. What do you do in your position? I oversee the EMEA procurement team, who are based throughout our European operations and support facilities footprint. My team is responsible for the day-to-day management of our supplier’s contractual obligations such as cost management, supplier performance and supplier capability. What do you like most about Hyster-Yale? There is a lot to like at HYMH, but for me it is the great people and the motivational culture that make the foundations of the business. What advice would you want to give to others? A former leader of mine once quoted Calvin Coolidge. Shortened, it reads as; “Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent". That is what it takes to work in supply chain, keep going forward. What are you proud of during your time here? I am extremely proud of my team; we have a great mix of experience and rising talent. Collectively, getting through the challenges of Covid and subsequent years within the whole of supply chain is a huge accomplishment.
