?? Roll out of our new project Hyper4Rail! Our new #EU_Rail research project, Hyper4Rail, is advancing hyperloop - a high-speed, low-energy transport system using magnetically levitated trains in near-vacuum tubes. The project unites 27 organisations across 13 countries to: ?? Develop a common hyperloop design framework, ?? Validate key subsystems (propulsion, vacuum, safety), ?? Align hyperloop with Europe’s transport goals, ?? Create a roadmap for industrialisation. Sascha Lamme, Program Director of the Hyperloop Development Program, said: “By harmonising our efforts, we are building a unified framework for the future implementation of hyperloop technology. Our focus is on ensuring interoperability within the broader European transport network. Hyperloop in Review - January 2025: A retrospective on the groundbreaking developments of 2024. From advances in test facilities to critical policy updates, this report highlights the strides made in hyperloop technology over the past year. ?? HDP Vision Paper - Accelerating Toward Europe’s Goal of Sustainable Transport: A forward-looking blueprint that lays out the roadmap for hyperloop innovation in the years to come. With a focus on aligning with European sustainability goals, this document addresses challenges, touches on regulatory pathways, and charts a timeline toward commercial implementation. These publications highlight the progress we’ve achieved and shed light on the road ahead, reaffirming hyperloop’s potential to complement the existing transport network. ?? ?? Hyperloop Highlight: #goTube freight demonstrator The German Institute of Hyperloop Technology has now realized the goTube testing infrastructure. The facility is aimed at testing propulsion systems and different vehicle concepts for freight. Recently, early tests of the linear motor have been successful. Nevomo has implemented the magnetic propulsion technology and power electronics. This integration marks a crucial step in advancing hyperloop technologies. ??? Want to see the linear motor in action? Good news for the advancement of #hyperloop technology: we are enhancing the hyperloop testing environment through a collaboration with key partners. ?? Germany's Institute of Hyperloop Technology has now joined the European Hyperloop Testing Infrastructure Cluster, alongside the European Hyperloop Center and EuroTube who started the initiative at the start of this year. ?? Together, we're advancing hyperloop R&D, focusing on key technologies. This partnership brings Europe closer to a more sustainable high-speed transportation system. ?? ?? Hyperloop Highlight: "Fast as a plane, clean as a train" ???? A new life-cycle assessment (#LCA) shows that with renewable energy and high occupation rates, the #hyperloop does have a strong potential as an energy-efficient, low-carbon, high-speed transport mode. ??The current long distance transport demand is largely met with aviation, which presents significant challenges?like greenhouse gas emissions. ??Rail systems, while environmentally preferable, are usually slower and face limitations in capacity. ??The study demonstrates that the climate impacts of a hyperloop transport service over its entire life cycle would be similar to those of trains. The LCA is performed by the PSI Paul Scherrer Institut (PSI) and published in the Resources, Environment and Sustainability peer-reviewed journal. ??
