It is wonderful to participate in RESCON 2024 - the premier meeting about connected inhalation drug delivery devices. Cough is so relevant to the disease getting these therapies - both a prominent symptom and potential adverse drug effect! Our CMO Dr. Peter Small just gave a talk at the #RESCON Summit in New York, titled 'Cough Science: Novel Insights From AI-Enabled Monitoring'. Would you be interested to learn more about the evidence of cough as a biomarker in asthma, COPD, Cystic Fibrosis, among other conditions? Comment "cough" and we'll send you an evidence-based overview! #Cough #AI #DigitalHealth #RespiratoryHealth #Innovation

Cough as a Biomarker | Digital Health Lead @ Hyfe | Pioneering Cough Monitoring AI & the first Digital Therapeutic (DTx) for Cough
Chronic Refractory Cough is a large and unmet need and cognitive behavioural cough suppression can help! 73% of Refractory Chronic Cough patients report a moderate to high frequency of daily cough bouts. Of these patients, 72% report that their cough is uncontrolled. Using cough suppression techniques, typically taught by speech-language pathologists (SLPs) who specialize in voice and throat disorders, chronic cough patients can learn to recognize and manage their urge to cough. This approach can lead to a significant reduction in both cough frequency and the number of daily cough bouts. Cough management techniques are available in a digital format, with cough monitoring included. Give it a try on your smartphone (both iOS and Android): CoughPro #Cough #AI #DigitalHealth #Biomarker #ChronicCough

Cough as a Biomarker | Digital Health Lead @ Hyfe | Pioneering Cough Monitoring AI & the first Digital Therapeutic (DTx) for Cough
Cough: New Therapies (in refractory chronic cough, IPF and DTx) European Respiratory Society hosted an ERS Vision Live panel discussion on new cough therapies, moderated by Prof. Surinder Birring and Dr. Jacky Smith. Expert panelists Dr. Imran Satia, Dr. Slovarp Laurie and Prof. Marlies Wijsenbeek-Lourens discussed: - Emerging drug classes for refractory chronic cough - Speech and language therapy interventions for chronic cough - Cough and idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) Of particular interest was the potential of a novel digital therapeutic (DTx) for chronic cough, based on cognitive behavioural cough suppression techniques. Non-invasive, accessible, and affordable, such DTx solutions could either serve as alternatives to drug treatments or complement emerging pharmacotherapies. Prof. Marlies Wijsenbeek-Lourens also underscored the need for standardized cough measurement and interpretation across therapeutic areas, emphasizing, “we need to be unifying the way we measure cough.” This aligns with discussions at the IPF Summit in Boston this summer, where experts emphasized that “cough is a sleeper biomarker in IPF.” With continuous cough monitoring technologies now available, there is a timely opportunity to explore the value of cough as a biomarker: predictive, prognostic, indicative of treatment response, among other... #Cough #Biomarker #IPF #ChronicCough #DigitalTherapeutics #DTx

To support the development of an accurate, point-of-care cough-based triage tool for TB, we have compiled a large multi-country database of cough sounds from individuals being evaluated for TB. The dataset includes more than 700,000 cough sounds from 2,143 individuals with detailed demographic, clinical and microbiologic diagnostic information. We aim to empower researchers in the development of cough sound analysis models to improve TB diagnosis, where innovative approaches are critically needed to end this long-standing pandemic. ??
