As HydroPhos zips into the new year, we're happy to share new company updates and progress! 1. Graduation from Techstars ?? Last month, we wrapped up an incredible four months in Tuscaloosa as part of the Techstars WaterTech & Sustainability program. Derek and Daisy made significant strides in refining our system logistics and built valuable relationships with watertech founders, investors, and mentors. 2. R&D Milestones ?? In Q4 2024, we significantly ramped up our R&D efforts, with highlights including a replicable 97% phosphorus removal rate with our filtration media. 3. Alabama Founder Fest ?? We were honored to win “Most Game Changing” at Alabama Founder Fest, led by Derek's pitch! We appreciate the opportunity to continue to connect in the Alabama ecosystem. 4. Stage I Growth Study Completed ?? We successfully concluded our Stage I Growth Study at Chatham University, gaining valuable insights into our agricultural application vertical. As we move forward, Matt and Derek will lead Stage II in upcoming months to expand our soil testing procedures. We’re grateful to the mentors, partners, and fellow founders who have helped us reach this level of progress. We would especially like to thank our Managing Director Anastasia Simon and Program Coordinator Courtney "Coko" Eason who have given us incredible support and insight, along with our techstars mentors Bryan Boudouris and Dee Zheng. We’re thrilled to share that HydroPhos had an incredible experience at the Cleantech Open Northeast / ACT showcase hosted at Greentown Labs! It was an honor to meet so many amazing startups and stakeholders aligned with our mission, and we are excited to announce that we are recipients of the Water Prize, sponsored by Xylem Innovation Labs! A special shoutout to Beth Zonis for her unmatched passion and support, and to our amazing mentors Jen Miret, John Ireland, Dan Chapman, and Amy Lieb for their invaluable guidance along the way. Daisy and Derek will be attending the CTO Global Forum/VERGE 24 event in San Jose from October 28-31, so please come by and say hello if you're around! Events like these always remind us of the tremendous support we’ve received, and we couldn’t be more grateful for the community rallying behind us.

Earlier this month, Matt and Derek traveled to Boston for the first in-person series of SeaAhead and New England Aquarium's BlueSwell program! This opportunity will provide us with guidance as we scale up our piloting capabilities and strengthen connections in the greater New England area. We are so excited to grow alongside the rest of Cohort V in the coming months!

We couldn't be more excited to be a part of Techstars WaterTech & Sustainability! For the next 3 months Derek Long and Daisy Burns will be going through this esteemed program. We are looking at a bright, sustainable, and exciting future at HydroPhos! Stay tuned for developments ?? ?

Nicole & Matt had an amazing time last week at VentureWell's Pioneer E-Team Program in Seattle, Washington! Two days of rigorous market validation, landscape analysis, and customer discovery work allowed us to further align our product-market fit and potential for impact! We also had the chance to meet and learn from other inspiring startups from all across the country making impressive strides in their social innovation ventures. Special thanks to the Washington Clean Energy Testbeds, Rhonda Shrader, Sarah Wharmby, and the rest of the VentureWell team for their valuable support! P.S. This past weekend we had the pleasure of competing at the Stu Clark New Venture Championships in Manitoba, Canada. It was a fantastic weekend of networking and meeting incredible student entrepreneurs, and we're very pleased to come away with Second Place in the graduate track. This has been a busy month for HydroPhos, as we recently returned from the Rice Business Plan Competition where we were awarded the Entrepreneur Futures Network award. Additionally, we were just accepted into the Cleantech Open Northeast / NECEC Accelerator program that will take place this summer. We are also making significant progress with our technology as we are developing our POC model and connecting to manufactures to test their material in our systems.
