Two large developments within the hydrogen industry will be occurring soon and these will come in the form of a hydrogen import hub and the establishment of the production of renewable hydrogen and methanol. The hydrogen import hub will be worth 1.1bn euros and it is being set up by Air Products, the oil and gas major, whilst Qair Group is behind the other part of the project. Behind this project, there is an investment of 500m euros and it is planned that the product will produce 200,000 tonnes of e-methanol. Ohmium International will be working with two Indian organisations, with the intention of setting up India’s ‘first’ green methanol plan. This plant will be powered by Ohmium’s PEM electrolyser technology and this will make it possible for the plant to produce hydrogen. The purpose of the project is to combine green hydrogen with carbon dioxide that has been captured from the Singareni Thermal Power Plant. Through doing this, Ohmium will be able to produce green methanol. The article below showcases the new project that will be responsible for the launch of India's first green methanol plant. It was recently announced that Spain’s Exolum has now started testing the storage and transport of green hydrogen at a commercial scale. The tests will be conducted on the existing natural gas infrastructure that is set up in the UK. A brand-new hydrogen-based sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) plant is being set up in Brazil, specifically in Rio Grande and this project will be supported by Topsoe. The decision behind having Topsoe support this project came from the benefits that Topsoe’s HydroFlex and H2Bridge technologies will bring to the project. These technologies will make SAF and the production of renewable diesel production from soybean oil and tallow feedstocks possible. The process of creating a green hydrogen production and refuelling facility within the US, specifically southern California, has been started by AVINA Clean Hydrogen, Inc. It has been suggested that the facility is expected to produce an estimated 1,400 tonnes of compressed hydrogen on an annual basis once the facility is operational. A new development of near-shore green hydrogen projects within Europe has been started by HydePoint and Norwegian Hydrogen. It has been planned that together these projects will jointly develop 10-40MW dockside. Furthermore, it has also been planned that HydePoint will be responsible for providing its hydrogen production technology which is suitable for marine environments. On the other hand, Norwegian Hydrogen will bring forwards their expertise in operating hydrogen infrastructure.
