At Hy-Vee, we're committed to supporting the communities that support us. We've recently made investments in several of our communities to help create places for families and communities to gather. The new Great Room at the historic Muscatine Fairgrounds will be sponsored by Hy-Vee, as will the new events center and amphitheater at the Centennial Park in North Liberty. We're also partnering with the City of West Des Moines to create a new playground in the Legacy Woods Project in West Des Moines. Each of these projects is a chance for Hy-Vee to be part of the spaces that make life in these communities easier, healthier and happier - and we're glad to be part of them!

Today is National Registered Dietitian Nutritionist Day! Our Hy-Vee registered dietitians play a crucial role in our mission to make lives easier, healthier and happier. Each day, our dietitians assist customers in improving their health by integrating food and nutrition into their routines. Our dietitians offer a wide range of essential services, including screenings to identify potential health concerns, diabetes prevention programs, and meal planning using nutritious and delicious recipes. ? Our distribution center and transportation teams are essential to keeping our stores stocked and making sure our customers always find what they need. Our pharmacy teams provide essential medications as well as the trusted knowledge and care our customers need to manage their health. Our corporate teams support our stores, our distribution centers, our transportation teams and our subsidiaries to make sure everything they need to help customers - from technology to HR to marketing - is always the very best it can be. Together, we're all making a difference for our communities and our customers.

We're proud to announce our partnership with the Caitlin Clark Foundation to combat childhood hunger across the Midwest. Childhood hunger is an important issue for Hy-Vee and our local Feeding America partner foodbanks. In the U.S., one in five children face hunger, and more than 575,000 children across the Midwest are considered food insecure. From March 1-31, customers can round up their purchases at all Hy-Vee, Dollar Fresh Market and Fast & Fresh locations to help the Caitlin Clark Foundation team up against hunger.

Congratulations to Lisa Stowater, senior vice president of distribution at our Cherokee distribution center, and Brent McKenzie, vice president of transportation, on achieving certified "rock star" status! Both Lisa and Brent will be recognized in the 2025 class of Rock Stars of the Supply Chain, chosen by Food Logistics magazine. Lisa has been named the Overall Winner for the Top Warehousing category for her efforts in leading the Cherokee Distribution Center and helping support the launch of the new Lomar Distribution Center in the Des Moines metro. Brent will be honored in the Top Transportation Professional category for his work in leading Hy-Vee’s transportation department.

Recently, we hosted a company-wide virtual conversation between Pernell Cezar Jr (see zahr), Co-Founder of BLK & Bold Specialty Beverages, and Adriana Johnson, Hy-Vee’s Director of Community Impact & Belonging. Pernell shared his inspiring journey of leaving one industry behind to pursue his passion, starting with a single coffee roaster in his garage, and building BLK & Bold into a nationally distributed brand. His story is a testament to the power of perseverance, purpose and entrepreneurship. Our partnership with BLK & Bold is about more than great coffee; it’s about investing in visionaries, empowering communities, and supporting purpose-driven businesses.

A Big HY-FIVE to the newest graduates at the Puppy Jake Foundation! Thanks to Hy-Vee Homefront fundraising efforts, three of our sponsored service dogs – Hal, Checkers and Hyde – have officially completed their training and are ready to go into service for disabled veterans. Hal is especially meaningful, named in honor of the late Blaine Halvorson, a Hy-Vee employee and Marine Corps veteran who died in a tragic accident in 2021. Blaine’s family traveled all the way from Minnesota to commemorate Hal’s step into service with his matched veteran. We’re so proud to partner with the Puppy Jake Foundation and to see these incredible dogs head out into the world, ready to make a difference.
