Thank you Hy-Vee customers! Because of your incredible generosity, we raised more than $200,000 to support veterans and active-duty military. We’re also grateful to everyone who joined us for our 25th Annual Veterans Day Breakfast. This year, we proudly served more than 94,000 breakfasts to veterans and service members across our nine-state region. Veterans Day may have passed, but at Hy-Vee, our commitment to honoring and supporting the military community continues year-round.

It all started with one simple statement: “Do something for our veterans and they’ll never forget you.” In 1999 the Hy-Vee store in Belton, Missouri, decided to honor local veterans and military members from a nearby base with a free breakfast on Veterans Day. Twenty-five years later, this breakfast is one of our most beloved events that takes place at almost every store throughout our markets. It’s a morning of respect, camaraderie, storytelling, and memories with a side of coffee. It’s also a time to reflect on all the sacrifices that have been made to keeping us safe. Our third Homefront video focuses on celebrating the 25th anniversary of the breakfast and the Round Up Campaign that benefits organizations supporting our veterans and their families – American Red Cross, Puppy Jake Foundation, Hope For The Warriors? and Operation First Response.

In our second video honoring veterans and military, Hy-Vee recognizes the unsung heroes – Blue Star Families. These are immediate family members who serve our country by supporting our active-duty military members. They face some of the same challenges as their civilian counterpart, but most of us don’t have to worry about frequent moves or deployment and transfers which makes maintaining homes or careers difficult, as well as missing their loved ones as they serve our country. Today, we say thank you for all that you do, too!

Hy-Vee supports our nation's veterans and active-duty military through the Hy-Vee Homefront initiative. To date, Hy-Vee and our customers have donated more than $4 million to support veterans and military families. This November leading up to Veterans Day, we created a video series to salute those who have served our country. In our first video, we invited customers as well as Hy-Vee employees to say thank you for all who have served to protect our freedom.

As harvest season draws to a close, Hy-Vee appreciates the hard work of farmers who help feed us. In October, Hy-Vee celebrated those in our farming communities with meals that brought families together and delivered food to those still in the fields. These communities serve as the backbone of this country and what a better way to be thankful for all that we have than with food, family and friends.

Drumroll, please! For the second time since 2020, our subsidiary Amber Specialty Pharmacy has been named the Specialty Pharmacy of the Year by the National Association of Specialty Pharmacy. For more than 25 years, this team has focused on delivering the highest level of personalized care and support to patients living with chronic and complex conditions. Congratulations to this amazing team! #PharmacyWeek

We have THE BEST pharmacists at Hy-Vee — and they've got the awards to prove it! Two of our pharmacy managers recently were named national Immunization Champions by the CDC and Association of Immunization Managers for their work to keep their patients and communities healthy. Congratulations to Heather Vande Kieft from the Sioux Center, Iowa, Hy-Vee and Kristin Brummel from the Lee’s Summit West, Missouri, Hy-Vee for their outstanding efforts! #PharmacyWeek
