?? Successful Completion of the Two-Day program on Causality Analysis and Theory of Change for Family-Based Alternative Care (FBAC) ! ?? On 7th & 8th February 2025, we successfully conducted a two-day brainstorming session in Jammu and Kashmir with the dedicated participation of HUF (Humanity the Ultimate Faith) and HWVO (Human Welfare Voluntary Organization) teams, supported by UNICEF. The program was a pivotal step towards enhancing our efforts to reduce family separation and dependency on institutional care through community-driven family-based care models. ?????????? Key highlights of the session: ? Deep Causality Analysis: Tackling the root causes of family separation and reliance on institutional care. ? Developing a Comprehensive Theory of Change: Setting clear pathways to ensure sustainable family strengthening and child protection. ? Capacity Building: Equipping our teams with tools to envision and implement impactful interventions for the well-being of children. Sessions facilitated by Hilal Bhat, Child protection Specialist UNICEF-J&K, which fostered inspiring conversations and meaningful collaboration, all aimed at envisioning a brighter future for vulnerable children in Jammu and Kashmir. Participants appreciated the structured process of identifying problems, designing solutions, and aligning efforts towards achieving sustainable family-based care. ??? As children and families in Gaza make their way north to return to their homes, UNICEF is: ? Providing high-energy biscuits to treat children with malnutrition. ? Distributing identification bracelets to reduce the risk of children being separated from their families. ? Raising awareness on the dangers of unexploded ammunition. UNICEF is working with partners to scale up critical humanitarian aid to meet children's urgent needs, and call on the international community to support these efforts with financial resources.

Today’s stakeholder engagement at Shopian-J&K emphasised on enhancing the gatekeeping mechanisms at the district level besides delivering on the important aspect of putting institutionalisation as the last resort, This meaningful engagement brought together CWC, CCIs, OSC and other community stakeholders to prioritise Family Based Care. Guided by Juvenile Justice Act 2015 and Mission Vatsalya guidelines, the deliberation marks a major milestone in reaffirming the commitment towards vulnerable children.
