It was the perfect opportunity for our team to step away from their desks, unwind, and connect with colleagues. During the event, we encouraged everyone to reflect on "Dreaming of a Better Future" and share their personal thoughts on what matters most to us as individuals. This conversation aligned with the theme of #AccelerateAction, reminding us of the importance of taking meaningful steps toward a more inclusive and empowering future. International Women's Day (March 8) celebrates the incredible social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women globally. At HW Fisher, we’re proud to be hosting a range of activities throughout the week to raise awareness and support gender parity. This year's theme, #AccelerateAction, highlights the urgent need to close the gender gap. According to the World Economic Forum, at the current pace, it will take until 2158 to achieve gender parity - five generations from now. Now, more than ever, swift action is essential to address systemic barriers and biases. To lead by example, we invited six of our female partners and directors to share their personal commitment to accelerating change. To kick off the week of celebrating International Women’s Day, we invited our people to an #IAmRemarkable workshop. #IAmRemarkable is a global movement that empowers everyone to celebrate their achievements in the workplace and beyond. Imposter syndrome. Stereotypes. Culture. For many reasons, lots of us feel uncomfortable sharing our achievements. By amplifying stories and research on the transformative power of self promotion, the I Am Remarkable programme wants to inspire every single person to share their accomplishments. During today’s workshop, we learnt about the importance of self promotion in one’s personal and professional life and how to equip ourselves with tools to develop this skill. I joined the board in Jan 2023 alongside our brilliant chair, Sheila Dean, Steve Wills and Jason Harvie, CA and the adventure began…this was my first Private Equity backed board and has been amazing to be involved from the very start.???????? With a very clear mission - To be the UK and Irelands champion of SME’s. So the team set about building a leading nationwide accounting and business services firm where culture matters. Monahans, Part of the Sumer Group was the first firm to become part of the Group a few weeks later. Many more have since joined Sumer and at the end of 2024, just 2 years later, we became the 16th largest Accounting firm in the UK and the fastest growing. That is before HW Fisher, part of the Sumer Group joined us in Dec 2024. ???? We now have many offices around the UK with exceptional teams who just want to deliver over and above for their SME clients. The UKs Business Champion has become a reality.? The power of private equity backing is in the sheer scale of growth and pace that you go at. It is on a different scale. The ambition has to be big and the vision clear. Execution has to be flawless. The pace is very exciting. We have done 25 deals in those 2 years. More than any other PE backed Accountancy firm. That is what you call pace. Knowing you have funding means you have a relentless focus on finding the right partners to buy, focussed on our very clear and totally differentiated culture. That culture came to life over the last 3 days at the 250 person strong Partners and Emerging Leaders conference. It was fun, dynamic, inclusive, interesting, inspiring and totally focussed on growth and ambition for the future.???? Penta have been amazing to watch and I have loved the journey so far. ?? It makes you realise quite what is possible with this sort of backing. The mindset is all about growth and ambition. And it is fast paced. Very fast paced. BUT the results are just quite mindblowing.
