America’s Birthday: A new year of growth and celebration begins today! Today, we’re taking a minute away from our hot dogs and fireworks to recognize and congratulate Our Nation’s service members and veterans on their 248 years of service to the American people! Our family at HUVO wishes everyone a healthy, happy, and safe year ahead, especially to our recent graduates from the Class of 2024!

In Memorial Hall reside the names of the Sons of Harvard lost in support of the Union cause during the Civil War, a terrible daily reminder of the cost of freedom. Today, we remember and and acknowledge not just the veterans of Harvard, but all of our brothers and sisters in arms who made the ultimate sacrifice for their families, communities, and the ideals that founded our great nation. Gone but never forgotten.

It's time for another member highlight! Though Harvard may have a reputation as a builder of professionals, the education one can receive here is as varied and wide-ranging as its students dare to imagine. Case in point, Logan Smith. One of the Few, the Proud, and a true collegian willing to wrestle with the great questions of our time, Logan's journey from the Marine Corps to Harvard is as unique and interesting as the academic fields where he pursues his passions. It’s Picture Day in Cambridge and we have plenty to smile about! In just four years, HUVO has grown from a fledgling group of less than a dozen dedicated students to more than 75 shining representatives of military service and excellence! Where before American veterans walked alone on campus, in Cambridge today, we once again stand proudly alongside our brothers and sisters in arms from two US partner nations. And with the recent passing of Ivy Day, we are incredibly pleased to see that relentless growth continue!
