Our project in Oak Bluffs on Martha’s Vineyard is a modern re-interpretation of the cottages and capes that once dotted the island. Designed for a non-conforming lot with all kinds of zoning restrictions, the home has an efficient footprint, both to stay compliant and to reduce the overall build costs. A legal one-bedroom, the home can flex to sleep 6 comfortably. We’re exploring prefabricating the building shell to reduce construction costs and the time that comes with ferrying materials back and forth from the mainland. Ideal for the waterfront lot, but didn’t yet reflect their specific lifestyle.
