Last night, we hosted a valuable workshop for our Artistic Elements cohort, focusing on one of the biggest challenges for creatives - Finances. Toni Barnes from HUSTLE Winston-Salem led an exercise on pricing, providing practical steps to help participants recognize the value of their work and business offerings. I then led a session on Financial Foundations for Creatives, covering essentials to make finances more approachable. We emphasized the importance of having the right tools, setting aside time, and using effective techniques to organize business finances. The goal was to share best practices that help creatives be better prepared for taxes and long-term financial stability.
