During Women’s History Month, we’re proud to spotlight Mary Kate Mullen, a St. Louis-based attorney at Husch Blackwell. #TeamHB’s Women's Empowerment employee resource group invited Mary Kate to reflect on what Women’s History Month and International Women’s Day mean to her today, along with the advice she’d give her younger self. Q: How do you #AccelerateAction for women in your own life? For the past seven years, I’ve coached an all-girls high school mock trial team, where I help students develop public speaking and analytical skills. Even if a student chooses not to pursue a career in the legal field, I hope mock trial equips them with leadership and decision-making skills that will benefit them in any career they choose. Q: What do Women’s History Month and International Women’s Day mean to you today? Women’s History Month and International Women’s Day provide an opportunity to reflect on the incredible women in my life who have supported me along the way. This year, International Women’s Day holds special meaning for me as I celebrate it with my infant daughter, born just six days before Women’s Equality Day! I hope that by focusing on women’s history in March, the next generation of women will grow up believing that they deserve the same rights and opportunities as men. Q: If you could give your younger self one piece of advice, what would you say based on what you know today? Don’t sweat the small stuff. It will all work out in the end. #WomensHistoryMonth2025

During Women’s History Month, we’re proud to spotlight?Kenya Loving-McNamee, a St. Louis-based accounts payable manager at Husch Blackwell. #TeamHB’s Women's Empowerment employee resource group invited Kenya to reflect on what Women’s History Month and International Women’s Day mean to her today, along with the advice she’d give her younger self. Q: What do Women’s History Month and International Women’s Day mean to you today? For me, Women’s History Month and International Women’s Day are opportunities to reflect on how much women have achieved and how far we’ve come. I think about the remarkable women who have inspired me and paved the way—both in history and in my own life—and how important it is for us to continue uplifting one another. I’m forever grateful to have incredible women at Husch Blackwell, as well as family and friends I can trust, who support and push me to greatness. Q: If you could give your younger self one piece of advice, what would you say based on what you know today? I’d tell my younger self to stop worrying so much about having everything figured out. I spent so much time stressing about the future and trying to avoid mistakes, but now I realize it’s all part of the journey. I’d remind her to be kinder to herself, trust her instincts, and embrace the messy parts of life—because that’s where real growth happens. I’d also tell her not to be afraid to step out of her shell. There are so many amazing people in this world who want to see you succeed—and help you get there. Q: How do you #AccelerateAction for women in your own life? I try to do my part by being there for the women around me—whether it’s offering a listening ear, encouraging someone to go after their dreams, or simply showing up when they need a little extra support. #WomensHistoryMonth2025
