The Huntington Celebrates Pride Month!! Inspired by historian and DJ, Chris Cruse’s Queer Maps Project, our Pride Employee Resource Group (ERG) co-leads, Stone Van Allen and Izabel (Izzy) Wilbur hosted an incredible staff event centering LGBTQ+ history in Los Angeles. The Queer Maps project is an archive designed to preserve and share the rich histories of LGBTQ+ spaces and significant sites in Los Angeles from 1871 to the present. The staff event also covered the history of Stonewall and the essential leadership of BIPOC and trans voices in queer liberation. On June 7, we hosted our annual Evening Among the Roses where staff, members, and guests celebrated Pride!! Queer Maps Project: https://lnkd.in/d-gwx6iJ

Happy International Women’s Day!! ? International Women's Day (IWD) is recognized every year on March 8. It is a global celebration of the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. This year’s theme is Inspire Inclusion. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating women's equality. The first IWD gathering occurred in 1911 and was supported by over a million people.
