At 78, Shirley Kearney isn’t slowing down. After living with a heart murmur for decades, she noticed a decline in her energy and turned to our cardiac surgery care team for answers. It was determined that Shirley’s mitral valve needed to be repaired. With the help of robotic-assisted mitral valve surgery, now performed at Huntington Hospital, Shirley’s surgery was a success. She went home after just a few days in the hospital. “I was blown away,” she says. “I didn’t have any pain, and I bounced back so fast!” Read her inspiring story.

Constantly buzzing with activity, our facilities department at Huntington ensures the seamless operation of our various infrastructure, equipment and spaces, 24/7. Approximately 39 staff members work in the facilities department, including maintenance technicians, engineers, electricians and plumbers. Huntington's campus contains buildings of various ages and configurations, so the team doesn't use a one-size-fits-all approach: each job is given unique attention.
