I had the privilege of facilitating a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Workshop for an inspiring group of Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASAs) last week at the Greater Lafayette Commerce building. It was great to help support their passion and dedication to making a difference in the lives of children. This session was focused on providing foundational DEI knowledge, enhancing cultural awareness, and equipping advocates with practical tools to support children and families from marginalized communities. The engagement, thoughtful reflections, and willingness to embrace these concepts were fantastic. ? Key Highlights: ??Deep discussions about the intersection of systemic barriers and marginalized communities. ??Interactive role-play exercises to practice active listening and cultural sensitivity. ??Action planning to integrate DEI practices into everyday advocacy work. A huge thank you to the Tippecanoe County CASA and their team for trusting me to deliver this training. DEI Foundations for Building Understanding and Support for Marginalized Children and Families Hummingbird Interactive LLC is excited to host this workshop for Tippecanoe County CASA. ??This interactive session is designed to help Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASAs) deepen their understanding of marginalized communities, build stronger relationships with children and families, and enhance their advocacy within the court system. ? Why This Matters: CASAs are often the voice for children in the most vulnerable situations. By integrating Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion (DEI) principles, we can ensure that every child’s unique story is heard and respected while empowering CASAs to create impactful, inclusive advocacy strategies. ?? ??Tenecia Waddell-Pyle
