Does your boss stink? Do they pass the sniff test? Every boss has strengths and weaknesses. Let's not get carried away and think that because a boss, manager, or leader makes a mistake, we should all jump ship and write them off. I don't want my bosses and leaders to do that to me, and we shouldn't do that to them. But our lives are defined by trajectories—patterns of behavior. So, as you evaluate this list for your boss or yourself as a leader or manager, don't ask if these things have EVER been true. Instead, ask if they're OFTEN true. We're evaluating lifestyle, not mishaps. Here's my favorite grading scale for assessments like this one: 1?? Seldom true 2?? Sometimes true 3??
