Being a HSNT Foster is more than getting the opportunity to house and play with cute puppies and kittens. Our Foster Heroes work hard in helping the smallest to the largest of the bunch with their manners, tricks, and even good hygiene. Take these two playful furballs; currently, their Foster Hero has trained them in the mastery skills of "sit," and they are now working on some leash training. They still have a ways to go on their food manners (but who are we kidding have people even mastered our food manners ) and keeping their paws off of people! Last week, our team found two precious cats abandoned outside our clinic in heartbreaking condition. They were left in a kennel covered with a trash bag, suffering from painful eye infections and severely matted fur. Despite this rough start, these resilient kitties are now safe with us, and we’re doing everything we can to make them comfortable and begin their treatment. But they’ll need ongoing medical care, grooming, and plenty of TLC to fully heal. We’re reaching out for your help to cover their medical expenses and give them the fresh start they so desperately need. At the end of the seven days, you either adopt or return your dog to the shelter. Either way, the dog wins whether it’s a permanent home or a temporary reprise from noisy shelter life (which then can help get him/her in a better head space to find their forever home)! And here’s the best part – we’ve got your back every step of the way. We’ll hook you up with our behaviorists to help with any issues that may come up during your time together and cover 100% of the foster dog’s vet care until they are adopted. Urgent Help Needed for Shelter Pets Impacted by Hurricanes Helene & Milton This past Friday, HSNT teamed up with Wings of Rescue and other North Texas shelters to take in 130 displaced shelter pets from areas hit hardest by the storms. These pets, already in shelters, were transported to North Texas to free up space for animals separated from their families during the hurricanes. This is in addition to the 64 pets received on a flight last week after Hurricane Helene. In total, HSNT has taken in 40% of the pets on these flights and that’s where we need your help! Why It Matters: With Florida shelters at capacity, pets impacted by the storms need a place to stay until they can be reunited with their families. By opening our doors to the pets that came in from the two Wings of Rescue flights, HSNT is playing a part in giving those Florida and Georgia shelters the ability to focus on reuniting pets with their owners during this difficult time. 76 Extra Pets Are Now in Our Care Each of these animals needs food, supplies, and medical care—and more could be on the way. We're urgently looking for additional donations to cover the costs as well as foster homes and support to care for these animals until they find forever homes. We provide everything our Foster Heroes need—food, blankets, toys, supplies, and medication.
