The office was lively last week as we welcomed our three newest members of the Slate services team: Peter Scorcia (Director of Slate Services), Bryce Kunkel (Sr. Slate Consultant & Front-End Developer) and Gina Mandros (Sr. Director of Slate Services & Advancement Practice Leader) to our HQ for two days of collaboration and camaraderie. Today, the Government Accountability Office (GAO) released documents related to its investigation of last year's FAFSA rollout. While the GAO reports outline the behind-the-scenes bureaucratic failures, our own deep dive into what students are saying put the human effect of these failures into focus. In short and unsurprisingly, students are telling us the FAFSA missteps had real impacts on their college search and decision process. As we enter a new school year, we reflect on this past year. Congratulations to the inaugural HCRC Pre-Summit Training Class of 2024! You are all now “HCRC Slate Hard Hat Certified”! We loved the collaboration and light bulb moments we saw throughout this Tuesday and Wednesday training. 2. ?????? We were thrilled to welcome over 350 clients, colleagues, and friends to our Pre-Summit reception at HCRC Headquarters on Wednesday night. The rooftop views of Chicago were the perfect backdrop! We even solved a few query questions at the end of the night. 3. ?????? We can’t wait to see you all next year in Las Vegas for Summit 2025!
