    LEADING INTO 2025 As we head into 2025, I've been reflecting on the past year and preparing for the challenges ahead. Here are five key areas I'm focusing on to enhance my leadership: 1. EMBRACING VULNERABILITY I've learned that admitting when I don't have all the answers and encouraging open dialogue leads to better outcomes. Balancing professionalism with approachability has been particularly effective when tackling complex challenges. 2. EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE IN ACTION Recognising my triggers (like dogmatic approaches without evidence) and preferences (favouring future-state solutions) has helped me navigate difficult situations more effectively. Awareness of these biases improves my understanding and impact. 3. THE POWER OF PAUSE Incorporating reflection time into my routine, despite a busy schedule, has yielded breakthrough insights. I'm committed to emphasising "thinking hard" over just "working hard" for my clients, especially in strategic discussions. 4. MICRO HABITS, MAJOR IMPACT Instead of grand resolutions, I've adopted small, consistent habits. For example, daily meditation and morning walks have significantly improved my well-being and fitness. These non-negotiable routines have proven more sustainable than lofty, annual goals. 5. AI AS A COLLABORATIVE PARTNER I've shifted from viewing AI as merely a tool to seeing it as a collaborative partner. This approach enhances my uniquely human capabilities of awareness, wisdom, and compassion. AI generates content and data, while I provide the human-centred perspective and critical questioning. They wish to appoint an appropriately qualified and experienced actuarial professional to manage the reserving and regulatory capital management function within corporate actuarial. The ideal incumbent will be an actuarial graduate who is a qualified actuary (FIA/FASSA) or has progressed significantly completing examinations to qualify as a fellow of the actuarial Society.
