HABRI is proud to share the news that The People and Animals Well-being (PAW) Act has been introduced in Congress. This proposed legislation would allow veterinary care and pet health insurance expenses to be eligible under tax-advantaged Health Savings Accounts (HSAs) and Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs). ? The bill, endorsed by the AVMA (American Veterinary Medical Association) and dozens of pet care companies and organizations, also supports people living with disabilities by imposing no HSA or FSA spending limits on veterinary care expenses for service animals. HABRI salutes Representatives Claudia Tenney and Deborah Ross for their leadership in introducing common-sense legislation to make veterinary care more affordable for millions of pet owners. Data shows that 98 percent of pet owners consider their pets to be important members of the family, and that 85 percent of pet owners would pay whatever it takes if their pet needed extensive veterinary care. Yet, many pet owners face difficulty in caring for their pets due to the rising costs of veterinary care. To conclude next week's Pet Week on Capitol Hill, Ester Banque, President of U.S. Operations for Zoetis, the leading global animal health company, will discuss strategies and solutions to make veterinary care more affordable for pet owners. This session will stream next Friday, September 13th at 4:00pm ET at www.petnight.com and on Facebook at https://lnkd.in/eTzWsn_U!
