In celebration of #internationalwomensday2024 I want to recognize all of the amazing women on the Hulsey Media team and to thank the women who built the foundation of what our company is today. It started when Grace Hay retired from The Washington Post and relocated to Hendersonville, NC in the early 1980s. Grace recognized the need to provide trusted local information about her new town and created Hendersonville Magazine in 1982. Soon, she brought in Joanie Fischer to help grow the magazine. A few years later, Joanie became the publisher of Hendersonville Magazine and later started Healthcare Resources of WNC. I was fortunate to be connected with Joanie nearly 15 years ago and to have the opportunity to continue this local publishing tradition back in 2014. The years of quality work and service to the community from Grace and Joanie have created opportunities for the strong and very talented women who work with us today!
