Yesterday, our client, The City of Allen, received the TexITE – Texas District of ITE Norman Hogue Roundabout of the Year Award for the Allen Drive Gateway project! Huitt-Zollars was honored to lead this transformative project's Schematic Design and Plans, Specifications, and Estimate (PS&E) efforts. The reconfiguration of the Allen Drive interchange at US 75 into distinctive teardrop roundabouts has created a signature gateway for the City, addressing a long-standing priority to establish a unique identity along US 75. This project enhances motorist safety and pedestrian accessibility and contributes to the city’s image, economic vibrancy, and cultural growth, benefiting residents, commuters, and visitors alike. For Employee Ownership Month, we’re asking our team what employee ownership means to them. Jennifer Kinnie shared her journey: “When I first joined HZ, I didn’t fully grasp employee ownership. In those first years, I’d receive a statement, see some numbers, and hear Bob Zollars’ story about the value of a watch—a story I still love. By my fifth year, as that statement grew, so did my pride in the company. I realized that hard work here meant sharing in our success—not just through a paycheck, but by truly benefiting from the company’s growth. Over 25 years, I've worked in multiple offices, met amazing people, and watched that statement grow in a way I never could have imagined (and I truly enjoy what I do). I try my hardest to do my job well because I don’t want to let my fellow employee-owners down!” ? Jennifer’s story is a true testament to the pride and dedication that drive our employee-ownership culture. #ESOP #EOMonth #EOM2024 #EmployeeOwnership #TeamHZ

As we continue celebrating Employee Ownership Month, we’re spotlighting how ownership shapes our company culture. We asked, “How does employee ownership impact our culture?”?Tiffany Rose Anderson, PHR shared: “Employee-ownership impacts our culture in my opinion by how employees perform and their desire to go above and beyond. I sense a lot of pride from employee-owners, that they work for an employee-owned firm and their contributions directly impact their (and their co-workers') bottom line. There comes a strong sense of integrity from employee-owners just as they would if they are working with their own money and their own reputation is behind the work and services being performed. Until working for HZ, I had never worked for an employee-owned firm/ESOP before, so I have found working within an ESOP brings far more employee engagement and pride than working for big, Wall Street-owned companies.” ? Proud to be 100% employee-owned and grateful for our team’s dedication! #ESOP #EOMonth #EOM2024 #EmployeeOwnership #TeamHZ

For Employee Ownership Month, we’re exploring how ownership shapes our company culture. We asked our team of employee owners, “How does employee ownership impact our culture?”?Katherine Steinberger, P.E., CFM offered her perspective: “Employee ownership cultivates a culture that prioritizes transparency and shared decision-making. It creates an environment where contributions are both expected and valued. This enhances collaboration and ensures that everyone is invested in the outcomes of projects and initiatives.” We’re inspired every day by the ownership mindset of our team! #ESOP #EOMonth #EOM2024 #EmployeeOwnership #TeamHZ
