The Hughes Help team rolled out the fun at the Bike Decorating & Pizza Party at Children’s Clinics! Sponsored by Hughes, this event brought families together to prepare for the El Tour de Tucson Family Fun Ride. Kids of all ages showed off their creativity with colorful decorations and competed for prizes in the BEST DECORATED BIKE CONTEST. Going above and beyond takes on new meaning with Hughes employees Paula and Tyler! They each raised $1,000 and rappelled down the 5151 Broadway building to support the Girl Scouts of Southern Arizona, funding programs that inspire and uplift girls in our community. On Wednesdays we wear pink! We had a record number of attendees from credit unions and trade association partners to our GWLN - Southern Arizona Sister Society networking event this week. The theme of Empower and Uplift was highlighted by our amazing guest speaker, Diana Charbonneau, who provided actionable insight on advocating for ourselves and articulating our value. We also heard from Brittany Smith of Youth On Their Own about the community need her organization addresses for homeless youth and how our credit unions can help. Our generous attendees donated and packed hygiene products to stock up YOTO's Mini Mall. On this #FeelGoodFriday, we donated 1,000 calculators and mechanical pencils to Life Beyond the Books, a nonprofit that brings community professionals into classrooms to teach skills that last a lifetime. From cooking with chefs to mastering stress management, these students are getting a hands-on education that goes beyond textbooks.
