We are thrilled to share that The Greenville Triumph SC and Greenville Liberty announced that global soccer icon Ronaldinho Assis has joined the club’s ownership group. Known for his exceptional talent, creative playmaking, and illustrious career, Ronaldinho brings a wealth of soccer knowledge and an international presence to Greenville Pro Soccer (GPS). Ronaldinho inked the deal at the New York Stock Exchange Oct. 9, where he rang the closing bell as part of International Day. Widely regarded as one of the greatest footballers of all time, Ronaldinho's investment is a powerful endorsement of what the organization has built during the past six years. Hurricane Helene’s devastating impact across South Carolina includes several structures on YMCA Camp Greenville’s 1,400 acres, including the beloved cliffside, open air chapel known as Pretty Place. More than 325,000 people visit Pretty Place every year from across the country, 550 weddings are held there, and 2,500 kids who come to summer overnight camp participate in chapel there throughout their week stay. An outpouring of love and support across social media, as well as interview requests from Fox & Friends, Southern Living Magazine, and several South Carolina media outlets are helping to raise awareness of the catastrophic damage and funds needed to help rebuild YMCA Camp Greenville and Pretty Place. Last night, retiring president and CEO of the YMCA of Greenville, Scot Baddley, was awarded the Order of the Palmetto during a celebration at Avenue honoring Baddley’s 20 years of service at the helm of one of Greenville County’s largest health and human services organizations. The Order of the Palmetto is South Carolina’s highest civilian honor and is presented to leaders in recognition of a lifetime of extraordinary achievement, service, and contributions on a national or statewide scale.
