This year, the Hudson-Webber Foundation is thrilled to debut a stunning new, three-part float at the 2024 America's Thanksgiving Day Parade. The Hudson’s “From Then to Now” pays tribute to the rich legacy of Hudson’s department store, from its grand flagship location to its pivotal role in the Parade’s history, and the Foundation’s ongoing work to uplift and support the Detroit community. The 2024 America's Thanksgiving Day Parade kicks off at 6 a.m. on WDIV-TV in Detroit, and you can also stream the event live on Local 4+. Keep an eye out for members of the Hudson-Webber Foundation staff riding on the float. Additionally, other members of the Hudson-Webber family will be walking alongside the float, honoring the legacy of beloved former Hudson’s employees. The Parade Company recently hosted its 25th annual Pancake Breakfast, an esteemed Detroit tradition attended by hundreds of elected officials, community leaders, and VIPs. This event brings the community together to support Detroit’s iconic Thanksgiving Parade. Donald Rencher, President & CEO of the Hudson-Webber Foundation (HWF), served as a celebrity pancake flipper at the breakfast. Rencher, alongside HWF Trustee Bob Riney, joined WJR 760 AM's Guy Gordon, Lloyd Jackson, and guest host Karen Drew to discuss the Foundation’s role in the 98th annual America’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. This includes sponsoring a float celebrating Hudson’s legacy—from its famed flagship department store to its enduring role in the parade, as well as its ongoing commitment to giving back to the community through the Hudson-Webber Foundation. The Hudson-Webber Foundation (HWF) proudly announces the dedication of the All-Native Perennials Meadows, a heartfelt tribute to the remarkable Jean Wright Hudson. Designed by celebrated landscape artist Piet Oudolf, the newly established Jean Wright Hudson Peace Meadow features around 15,000 native perennials and shrubs planted this year, enhancing Detroit’s natural beauty. Jean Wright Hudson, together with her late husband, Joseph L. Hudson Jr., has made lasting contributions to Detroit’s civic landscape, supporting institutions like the Detroit Institute of Arts, the Detroit Artists Market and the Hudson-Webber Foundation. Her vision and efforts were instrumental in bringing Oudolf’s artistry to Belle Isle, and thanks to support from HWF and others, Oudolf Garden Detroit now flourishes. Celebrate this incredible addition to our city! Read more here: https://bit.ly/3UIVW9C. #HWF #Hudsons #Detroit #Foundation #Philanthropy #JeanWrightHudson #OudolfGardenDetroit
