关于我们
Hudson Valley Reptile and Rescue is an experienced and passionate organization providing education, rescue and other services since 2004. Through hands-on and virtual outreach our goal is to share our passion for these amazing animals and to educate the public about their pivotal roles in our ecosystems as well as providing knowledge about ensuring captive animals thrive through proper care. We take in reptiles who need new homes, take care of them as our own, and work diligently to make sure that those animals which are rehomed are matched with the ideal situation for that animal and it’s new keeper. We also engage in small-scale, responsible breeding projects aligned strictly with the ethics that we have set forth as an educational and rescue organization and to further our knowledge of the animals in our care. These projects are done on an extremely limited and highly selective basis with the goal of furthering our scientific knowledge of the natural patterns of our animals. We are proud to say that for the entirety of our existence we have been almost completely self-sustaining but are extremely grateful for all the help that we have received from countless family, friends and volunteers the years. Our ideal long-term outcome is to continue the legacy of our organization beyond its founders so that Hudson Valley Reptile and Rescue can continue its work for years to come.

Hot and cold zones matter! Reptiles need a temperature gradient in their enclosures to regulate their body heat. Make sure to have a basking spot and a cooler area. Tip: Use a digital thermometer to monitor temps accurately!
