Today we celebrate International Day of Women and Girls in Science. What a day to celebrate. When I broke out in 1981 most positions for women were limited to clerical. Forty three plus years later look at the enormous change. One can see this by the number of women whose careers are in the various sciences. As far as I know exploring for and producing oil and natural gas is gender neutral. Just as are most near all professions. Is there room for continued growth? You bet, the sky is the limit!!

A field test conducted to demonstrate the effectiveness of a drone based OGI camera system. A standard propane tank was used equipped with a .1 – 1 SCFH flowmeter, set at a flow rate of .4 SCFH . This minimal amount of propane is very easily detected at an altitude of 30’ and at a distance of 100’ away. HSM (High Sensitivity Mode) further increases the detection of very minute fugitive methane releases from a safe distance. An extremely important factor to consider in any OGI inspection is wind direction. With a drone based OGI camera’s maneuverability, this potential impediment is removed. Being able acquire views from multi-directional positions provides for a much more thorough inspection. Today we’re thankful for our families, friends and living in the greatest country in the world. All come to mind as very important. A few others I’m thankful for. Being able to add a few extra dollars to the total at the grocery store to provide for those without adequate food, stopping by the giving tree at church and picking the name of a young individual needing warm clothing this winter and passing a Salvation Army kettle and placing money in it for someone in need. It really doesn’t matter at what level, we all can assist others. Something I am very thankful to be able to do!! What are you thankful for?
At HT Drone Solutions safety and situational awareness are paramount in performing an onsite OGI inspection. This starts with a pre-inspection assessment of the proposed site/assets and concludes with a successful inspection. We work as a pair, pilot and spotter (each certified Level I OGI thermographers), with the ability to monitor the camera view.
