This Thanksgiving, we’re reflecting on the power of chosen family. Benefit honoree Rob Brown, a former foster youth and advocate, is building connections between foster care alumni and youth to create a network of inspiration and support. Through the American Dream Program, he’s helping youth embrace their stories and achieve their dreams.

As we close out Adoption Awareness Month, we’re proud to highlight another beautiful story from our HeartShare St. Vincent’s family. Meet Weedley. After almost giving up hope, he found the love and stability he longed for with the Hernandez family. On September 4, 2019, Weedley officially became a Hernandez. 60% of children awaiting adoption have spent more than two years in foster care. At HeartShare St. Vincent’s, we work tirelessly to support children and families in foster care. This Adoption Awareness Month, we’ll be sharing the inspiring stories of our HSVS families who’ve embraced the joys and challenges of adoption. Together, let’s raise awareness and continue advocating for every child’s right to a loving home.
