We proudly signed a MOU with South China University of Technology (SCUT) on 14 Oct 2024! This exciting collaboration marks a major milestone as SCUT expands into HSITP, becoming a vital ecosystem partner. Our CEO - Vincent Ma, expressed his enthusiasm for leveraging SCUT’s outstanding research capabilities in emerging engineering and life sciences to supercharge our ecosystem! As part of this partnership, SCUT is set to establish Hong Kong’s first CNCA-accredited medical device research institute within the Hetao Shenzhen-Hong Kong Science and Technology Innovation Co-operation Zone. By introducing its vast network of R&D, regulatory, and industry partners to HSITP, SCUT will turn our Park into a centralized hub for R&D commercialisation and overseas market development. This partnership will also provide professional services in advanced biomaterials and medical device compliance, thereby helping pharmaceutical and medical device companies streamline their entry into the Mainland market—saving time and capital. The enthusiasm and insights from our Canadian partners were truly inspiring, and we believe there are significant opportunities ahead for collaboration in life & health technology. The “2024 Invest Hong Kong Promotion Conference - Shanghai Session,” co-organized by the @HKTDC Hong Kong SAR Government and the Hong Kong Trade Development Council, brought together numerous prominent speakers to showcase Hong Kong’s advantages and opportunities across various sectors, attracting over 500 participants. Dr. Ming Ge, the Commissioner for Industry, attended and hosted a session on Technology Enterprises aimed at developing business in Hong Kong. He provided in-depth insights into the investment opportunities available to senior executives of mainland technology companies. The Commissioner emphasized that Hong Kong is the premier choice for mainland enterprises seeking to expand internationally. He articulated that mainland companies can leverage Hong Kong to access global markets, simultaneously creating new development opportunities and momentum for Hong Kong. Last week, we joined forces with Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Center for Drug Evaluation and Inspection (GBACDEI) to co-host the inaugural training seminar for Investigational New Drug Application in Hong Kong. Organized by our dedicated Ecosystem Development Division, this event drew around 200 experts, scholars, researchers, and pharmaceutical representatives from Hong Kong and beyond. During the seminar, speakers from GBACDEI provided a comprehensive overview of the clinical trial application process for new drugs in Mainland China, detailing pharmaceutical technical requirements and case studies. This information was invaluable for industry stakeholders looking to register new drugs, enhancing their capability and efficiency in navigating the complexities of clinical trials. The seminar also opened doors for new drugs in Hong Kong to access the vast Mainland China market, boosting the value chain of Hong Kong's biopharmaceutical industry! Early October, HSITP Ecosystem participated in the Global Pavilion at FlyAsia 2024 in Busan, South Korea. Established in 2022, FlyAsia is an annual event that brings together innovative startups from across the region. This year, the Global Pavilion featured startup communities and competitions from South Korea, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Singapore, Taiwan, and Vietnam.
