The Humane Society of Harford County, Inc., located in Fallston, Maryland, is a non-profit, 501(c)(3), open-admission animal support organization dedicated to providing shelter and care to the homeless and neglected animals of Harford County. We serve nearly 3,500 animals each year including dogs, cats, ponies, birds, hamsters, guinea pigs, rabbits, bearded dragons, lizards, snakes, spiders, iguanas, turtles, ducks, turkeys, chickens, goats and pigs, just to name a few! We provide a safe and healthy temporary shelter and seek loving, permanent homes to ensure the long-term welfare of the animals we serve. Through education and advocacy, we promote the humane treatment of companion animals and work toward reducing, and ultimately eliminating, pet overpopulation in the county through low-cost spay and neuter programs. We have welcomed more than 300,000 animals since 1946 and provide service to the community in conjunction with animal control to safeguard public health and safety. We strive to promote the special bond between humans and their companion pets in securing forever homes for our animals.

The Humane Society of Harford County (HSHC) is seeking a new Executive Director to lead our organization and further our vision to be an award-winning, progressive animal adoption and community resource center. The Executive Director will work in partnership with the HSHC Board, staff, and volunteers to lead all day-to-day operations and serve as a key policy and governance adviser to the Board. Working closely with members of the Harford County business, government, and community sectors, the Executive Director will identify and articulate goals and collaborate on solutions within the bounds of HSHC's mission and strategic plan. Did you know that we have 1 mile of trails that loop around our property? The team from Harford Mutual Insurance Group helped us get our trails ready and now we're hosting pack walks every Sunday at 10AM. Not only do the shelter dogs enjoy the trails every day, the public (and their dogs) can enjoy them too on Sunday mornings. Thank you!??
