  • 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱 𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻 𝗧𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗱𝘀 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝟯 𝗼𝗳 𝟰 | 𝗧𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘆 Seamless. Frictionless. Efficient. Advances in technology are shaping a new generation of sophisticated medical device design solutions. 𝟭. 𝗜𝗻𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗮𝗰𝗲𝘀 Once reserved for dead-front LED interfaces or black display cover glass, products have perfected the art of making UI interfaces seem invisible until they magically appear when prompted. 𝟮. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝘃𝗲𝗹 Slimmer, smaller, bending. Next generation products that focus on reducing size and challenging pre-conceptions through new internal technology. 𝟯. 𝗔𝗜 𝗢𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗶𝘇𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 From optimizing material use to targeted design inspiration images, designers are diving deeper into utilizing AI as a tool to generate new ideas and inspiring outcomes. #DesignTrends #Healthcare Brian Pughe

  • 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱 𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻 𝗧𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗱𝘀 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝟮 𝗼𝗳 𝟰 | 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘇𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝗻 𝗺𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗱𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻: Beyond mere functionality, we're seeing the focus on aesthetics increasing as medical device businesses recognize the value of distinct designs which enhance user experience and brand memorability. 𝟭. 𝗠𝗲𝗿𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗳 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘀𝘂𝗺𝗲𝗿 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵 Expanding upon previous years, we continue to see this trend strengthen as medicine and health become ever more personal and accessible to individuals and homes. 𝟮. 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝘆𝗳𝘂𝗹𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 A by-product of the merging of consumer and health, products are beginning to differentiate themselves with personality derived from an increase in color, texture, and unique forms. This is giving once visually-sterile medical devices and instruments an approachable playfulness for consumers to interact with. 𝟯. 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗿 More so than ever before, color is having its moment in 2025 as we begin to see instruments and devices leaning into a full color CMF rather than the traditional greyscale, color-pop combination. 𝟰. 𝗖𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗺𝗶𝘇𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 The trend towards personalization has increased users’ appetites for customizable products to fit their specific needs. From wearables offering an array of sizes to accommodate differing ergonomics, to medical devices that allow for swappable components, being able to customize is inspiring multi-functional devices and usability based on personal preference. #DesignTrends #Healthcare Brian Pughe

  • Soft materials, especially rubber-like ones, are notoriously tricky to simulate — but also the most satisfying when done right. We ran an FEA simulation on the XpressCollect Cap's overmolded rubber during assembly with the tube. Our goal was to visualize strain distribution and compare it to real-world behavior. The results speak for themselves. We were able to capture: - Animated simulation clips showing strain distribution - Microscope images and video of the actual deformation It's always exciting to see how simulation aligns with reality, especially for complex materials like this. Let us know what you think! SteriPack Group #Engineering #Simulation #FEA #SoftGoods #MedicalDevices #ProductDesign

  • 2025 Design Trends Series 1 of 4 | Product Renderings in medical device design. In the first of our 2025 Design Trends series, Director of Industrial Design Brian Pughe explores Product Renderings and Graphics. What latest techniques should you be aware of? 𝟭. 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 Inspired by UIUX design, product renderings are using gradients to make bold, colorful statements. Breaking from the clean, cast-shadowed, pseudo-environment stylization of previous years. 𝟮. 𝗡𝗼𝗶𝘀𝗲 Heavy noise in photography and graphics is making a comeback as people long for the nostalgia of the 90s and early 2000s. It stands to reason that last years, frosted glass trend may have helped encourage this transition. 𝟯. 𝟯𝗗 𝗥𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀 & 𝗦𝗵𝗮𝗽𝗲𝘀 Whether using an interactive 3D rendering to showcase a new product, 3D iconography, or animated 3D shapes, countless websites and applications are taking advantage of the depth, dynamism, and playfulness that 3D offers. 𝟰. 𝗠𝗼𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗲-𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 A previous trend that is here to stay (much to designer and artist chagrin), the mobile-first mindset of creating content that will primarily be viewed on the phone continues to influence and challenge artists to work in a portrait format. Which of these trends are you seeing being made most use of? And which do you most admire? We'd love to hear what's caught your eye. #DesignTrends #Healthcare

  • Great design is as much about innovation as it is about execution. Too often, early-stage concepts are developed in isolation, only to face major hurdles when transitioning to manufacturing. But when manufacturing strategy informs conceptualization from the start, teams can hasten the development cycles, reduce redesigns and late-stage pivots, and help to identify creative solutions that align with scalable production. The key? Collaboration and understanding — bringing engineers, designers, and manufacturing experts together early to explore solutions that push boundaries while remaining viable for all teams. How do you balance manufacturability with creative freedom in your projects? Let’s discuss! #DesignForManufacturing #Innovation #ProductDevelopment #MedicalDevices #MedTech #ManufacturingStrategy SteriPack Group

  • How can we improve health outcomes for new mothers and newborns? It's a question that's at the heart of this year's World Health Day theme "Healthy beginnings, hopeful futures". Investing in maternal and newborn health leads to economic progress and healthier, stronger societies. The key to doing so effectively has to lie in a deeper understanding of women's experiences, and in developing policies, products and services which are uniquely attuned to women's needs. Sometimes there has to be a commercial dimension to that too, particularly where innovation is involved. Exploring new diagnosis or treatment methods, or developing products and services that address unmet needs, often require an understanding of the market need and optimal product journey to support the impetus for change. HSD is proud to be a part of an industry that is passionate about finding breakthrough ways to make a difference, and to use our voice to held shed a spotlight this World Health Day. https://lnkd.in/d8nVsj82
