We are still navigating unprecedented times, and progress is slow. Many organizations I work with are seeking candidates with both the right skills and industry-specific experience. This is crucial for applicants trying to get their foot in the door. While candidate pools used to be smaller, today they're overly saturated—you’re often competing against hundreds, if not thousands, of candidates, especially in remote roles. Focus on roles that align with your experience and the industries you’ve recently worked in. Reconnect and build meaningful relationships within those networks to stand out.

“The shocking state of the restaurant industry: ‘We can’t afford to be open. We can’t afford to be closed.’” Chefs and trade groups have complained that lawmakers leave them in the dark on the new laws’ details. Many said they wished more restaurateurs would be consulted by local, state and federal politicians when writing regulations that affect them.
