Earlier this month, our wonderful partners at Smithfield Foods volunteered to help deliver food to our seniors! Every month, volunteers join our staff at different senior apartment complexes to deliver food through our Community Supplemental Food Program (CSFP). This program works to improve the health of low-income persons at least 60 years of age by supplementing their diets with nutritious USDA Foods. Two superstar 5th graders from Kilgore Gifted Center in Hampton have blown us away with a fundraiser that collected over 1,000 non-perishable food items for our Foodbank. Huge shout out to Sydney and Makayla, along with their amazing teacher Ms. Ferrel! These ladies initiated this food drive at a time when donations often decline, showing the true power of compassion and community.
