  • Ivonne Ogden, our Family & Community Advocate in Puentes,?shared a heartwarming story with a client at Puentes that truly exemplifies the impact of our work. After years of assisting a family with various needs, Ivonne had a chance encounter with the father at a workshop. Just before his wife was due to have their baby, he found himself dealing with a scam from a fraudulent immigration attorney. Ivonne was able to connect him with the right resources and offer support. The next day, the father called the office to share the news of his baby girl's arrival and to ask how to spell Ivonne's name. He explained that he had named his daughter after her as a token of gratitude for all the help and support provided by Puentes. "It was just the sweetest thing," Ivonne shared, "and it really reminded me why we do what we do."

  • We understand that the demolition of the old building in Hoyleton may bring a sense of loss, as it has been a familiar part of our community for many years. However, we are excited to share with you that our mission continues, and we are now operating from a new, therapeutic campus designed to better serve the youth in our residential program. The decision to build a new campus was not taken lightly. The previous building had numerous issues that made repairs not feasible, and it lacked the space to fully support the growing needs of our youth and the expanded services we are offering. The new campus is equipped with improved facilities, including enhanced therapeutic services and a new cottage to house more youth, allowing us to provide a higher level of care. Our goal remains the same: to reunite children with their families when possible or help them achieve the highest degree of independence if returning home isn’t an option.?The work we do will continue to help children who have experienced trauma and may need extra care to meet their developmental needs. We are committed to maintaining our strong presence and mission here in Hoyleton. This new campus represents our ongoing dedication to the youth and families in the Metro East area and Illinois. We are proud of the progress we’ve made and look forward to continuing to serve the community for years to come. Learn more about what we do on our website: https://hoyleton.org/

  • At Hoyleton, we strive to meet our clients where they are, not just physically, but mentally. We became a CARE certified organization, the only one serving youth in the Midwest, through Cornell University in 2022. Read about our journey here: https://lnkd.in/g5Qw3uJQ CARE is a trauma-informed practice model based on six core principles that create successful outcomes for children and families. The aim of CARE is to bring our current practice closer to well-researched best practices with children and families impacted by trauma. The CARE model is recognized as our agency compass, it guides our interactions with youth, families and staff as well as our policies, procedures and decision making.
