It’s been a minute, but I am deeply grateful to Columbia Association and the Howard County Chamber for the opportunity to introduce the final keynote speaker of the always fabulous Women’s Leadership Conference. There was so much to say, but I wanted to make sure this room of powerful women knew that their story is our story, a story we’re honored to tell. I mentioned recent stats straight from our county - yes, Howard County - that show mental health challenges continue to increase across the board. Bottom line: it’s essential that we find a place to feel welcomed, embraced, and fulfilled. We DESERVE it. It’s a nonnegotiable. The dozens of CA ladies who took part in that conference were a testament to our organization’s commitment to our individual and collective growth. Leadership is in our DNA. There are too many to name, but it was wonderful to spend the day learning and leveling up with each and every one of them. A massive thanks to Lauren Morris for capturing this video, Meaghan McClure and her team for another spectacular event, all of the panelists and presenters (especially the amazingly impressive Tisha Edwards, MSW, JD who I had the pleasure of introducing), and the incomparable Kashonna Marrow for allowing me to embarrass her and myself. On March 7th the Tocar team showed up and showed out at the Howard County Chamber Howard County Chamber’s annual Women’s Leadership Conference. It was amazing networking and providing therapeutic massages for all the amazing attendees and panelists. We had a chance to pitch our Corporate Wellness offerings and made some new friends in the process. Bonus gift; I saw my friend Dr. Renee McSwain present the morning mindfulness session.

This session of the The Maryland General Assembly has seen increased activity, notably focusing on labor and employment, and tax-related bills affecting small businesses. Grateful for the chance provided by the Maryland Chamber of Commerce to advocate for small businesses and contribute as a small business owner and HR professional.
