Congratulations, Gilbert!
?? 2025 is off to a humbling start! ?? I’m deeply grateful and honored to have received the Young Engineer of the Year Award from the ASCE Houston Branch during Houston Engineers Week. This recognition means more to me than I can express, and I’m so thankful to have had the opportunity to celebrate with our amazing members and share the stage with such outstanding award recipients. To add to this, I’ve also been honored with the American Society of Civil Engineers Central Region Younger Member Council Outstanding Young Civil Engineer in the Public Sector Award. My sincere thanks to the ASCE Houston Branch for the nomination! This recognition is a testament to the incredible team I work alongside and to the community I serve, and I’m especially proud to represent my hometown, my dedicated colleagues, and my incredible employer,? Houston Public Works, for over a decade of service to the public. I owe so much to my family, friends, and mentors who have supported me every step of the way. As a young manager and engineer, I am constantly inspired by those around me and strive to lead by example, encouraging my team to push boundaries and reach their fullest potential.???
