I've been with Houston Methodist now for almost 19 years. In 2006, I started as a unit secretary for the main hospital. A few months later, I was offered a full-time position as a unit secretary and worked in a few administrative clerical roles over the next four years. I decided I wanted to go back to school to pursue a career in human resources and I was able to use Houston Methodist benefits for tuition reimbursement where I earned my bachelor's in business and human resource management and master's in business. My first HR job was at the west location. I started there when Houston Methodist West Hospital was about three years old. I was an HR coordinator and then, after a year I was promoted to HR specialist. Houston Methodist was acquiring the continuing care hospital during that time, and I was given the opportunity to be a part of a project team responsible for assisting many employees secure positions throughout system. My first recruiting job was at Houston Methodist Sugar Land. I did that for a couple years before I moved into a senior generalist role at Houston Methodist Sugar Land. And then, in 2022, there was a senior generalist position open in the corporate division and I’ve been on this team ever since. I was very fortunate to have worked under leaders that fostered my desire to grow. If you want to be in a particular position, there are so many resources to help you grow and develop. I've been fortunate to be able to tap into a lot of that throughout my career journey. -- Quin Williams, senior HR generalist, corporate division

Our Global Health Care Services had the pleasure to host its annual Ramadan suhoor in Riyadh, Abu Dhabi and Doha. We enjoyed connecting with our patients and their families, as well as catching up with friends and partners. It was also a great opportunity to reconnect with our Global Transformational Leadership program alumni and learn more about their new endeavors following the program. Wishing everyone who observes Ramadan, a Ramadan Kareem and Eid Mubarak!

I actually started in patient billing back in 1989 as a summer student. So back in the late 80s, if your parent worked here, you could come and work during the summers. It was like a little internship. And, you know, it was eye opening, and it gave me something to aspire for. So when I started college, I actually started in business because I really liked what I was doing here. I basically have just grown up in the organization. But it all started with my mom. And she worked here back in the early 60s. Started out as an elevator operator and she actually grew in the company as well. She went from there to radiology (radiology tech), where she served 35 years, actually. I've grown in this department throughout the 36 years I’ve been here. Started out as a little intern and actually worked my way up from mailroom to billing. I started in a leadership role as a supervisor and now I’m director of corporate revenue cycle. And specifically, I manage the patient billing team. It is not only just patient billing, but we also help patients with payment options, which is mainly what we do. A big part of that is our charity care program. I love how Houston Methodist embraces all different types of backgrounds. It is representative of Houston. I love this job, I love it, I love the organization. But I think none of this would be possible without my mom, you know, introducing me to this wonderful organization that has built my career. It feels like every day I'm honoring her. -- Kimberley Doucet, Director of Corporate Revenue Cycle
