Houston Maritime Center and Museum Celebrates Ribbon Cutting to Begin Construction for New East River Location Houston Maritime Center & Museum (“HMC&M”) celebrated the official ribbon cutting for the beginning of the construction for its new East River location on the banks of Buffalo Bayou on October 30. The new HMC&M will be located at 2940 Riverby Rd Suite 200, Houston, Texas offering panoramic views of Houston downtown and the Buffalo Bayou. Completion is expected in mid 2025. The event, was attended by local business leaders, community members, and HMC&M team members, marked a significant milestone for the organization. The new space has been designed to foster collaboration and innovation, featuring an open-concept layout for exhibits that encourage visitor engagement and creativity. “The new HMC&M location has been a fantastic step forward for the center and museum, providing the public?with an inspiring space that promotes maritime history and innovation,” said Brian P. Cosgrove, interim director for the HMC&M . “The open atmosphere will allow us to be flexible with exhibits and in engaging more closely with the students, businesses, public, driving creativity and helping us better serve our public now and in the future.” #maritime #museum #construction #maritimehistory
