Congratulations to the Carnegie Vanguard High School Business and Entrepreneurship Club, who participated in the Junior Achievement National Student Leadership Summit in Washington, D.C. Their company, Type-Along, was selected as one of the top 10 out of more than 80,000 participants and secured first place in the National Social Innovation Challenge, excelling in the trade expo, stage pitch, company interview, commercial, and annual report. The team won glass trophies, certificates, and Microsoft Surface Go 3s. ??

The Girls in STEM mentor program, sponsored by bp and Infosys Foundation USA, just wrapped up a successful 10-week session at West Briar Middle School. It has been incredible to celebrate the Greatness Graduated, recognizing remarkable achievement across the District this school year. HISD will continue to share more stories of Excellence and Greatness this upcoming school year, and can't wait to see our students back in the classroom on August 12.

STAAR SPOTLIGHT: Like many HISD schools, Fleming Middle School showed impressive improvement on the 2024 STAAR exams. Fleming is just one example of how students at NES campuses have achieved at even higher levels than the District average and narrowed the achievement gap. Read more:
