Houston Healthcare has signed a letter of intent to join forces with Emory Healthcare. Emory, an academic health system located in Atlanta, announced in August their intent to join with the Warner Robins-based not-for-profit healthcare system. Houston County is committed to innovation within education and developing the rising workforce! In 2019, Robins Air Force Base, Central Georgia Technical College (CGTC) and Macon-Bibb County Industrial Authority (MBCIA) came together to create Robins North. The partnership — which is still strong five years later — helps build the future workforce for both Middle Georgia and for Robins Air Force Base. The purpose is to develop a long-range supply of skilled employees so that innovation in Middle Georgia can continue. Houston County Schools were recently awarded a total of $294,000 in grants from the Flint Energies Foundation! The purpose of the grants is to provide additional support for teachers by allowing for beneficial classroom supplies and morale improvement. Robins Air Force Base is preparing students for successful futures! Houston County students were able to gain career insight and experience over the summer through the Robins Air Force Base Student Pathways Program. This two-month internship opportunity was revived over the summer and allowed students to work part- or full-time with a variety of community partners. For innovation to take place, community members must have a VOICE. In July, Warner Robins Mayor LaRhonda Patrick opened her doors once again for one-on-one conversations with residents. This proceeded the successful "Moment with Mayor" event back in April that allowed city residents to bring their concerns, questions and feedback to the Mayor. When community members have a voice, it allows for more innovation and growth to take place within Warner Robins. This is one of the many reasons that the quality of life in Houston County is so high! Thank you to Mayor Patrick and each of the community members that attended the event. In 2019, Robins Air Force Base, Central Georgia Technical College (CGTC) and Macon-Bibb County Industrial Authority (MBCIA) came together to allow aerospace training students to work alongside the 402nd Commodities Maintenance Group aircraft maintainers from the Warner Robins Air Logistics Complex. The first-of-its-kind program was dubbed Robins North. The partnership — which is still strong five years later — helps build the future workforce for both Middle Georgia and for Robins Air Force Base.
